What is Area Courts?
Area Courts is an organized pickup basketball community in Montreal, with weekly sessions at Centre Sportif ETS, capped at 15 players.
What level do I need?
The level is intermediate to advanced, with competitive games. Prior basketball experience is needed.
Do I bring my own gear?
Bring basketball shoes and game attire. The ball is provided. No bags, jackets or boots in the gym, and a padlock is recommended.
Are sessions mixed?
Sessions are open to all genders. Everyone is welcome as long as the level and attitude fit.
Who do I ask on site?
An on-site ambassador runs each session and welcomes first-time players.
Why do I see no messages when I join the chat?
Yes, that is completely normal. WhatsApp does not show messages sent before you joined a group.
If I am lost, where do I ask for help?
Ask in the Discussion generale WhatsApp chat, the staff will help you.
How does the roll call work?
Write IN in the WhatsApp chat. The first 15 are confirmed, the rest go on a waitlist. Subscribers have a reserved spot before it opens.
What if I am on the waitlist?
If a confirmed player cancels, the first person on the waitlist is invited automatically.
How does a session run?
A session lasts 2 hours with 15 players max. Games are played to 7 points, around 8 to 10 minutes each. Teams form on site.
How do I cancel my spot?
Write in the WhatsApp chat before 3pm the same day on weekdays, or before 11:30pm the night before for Saturday. Cancellations within the deadline are free.
What if I cancel too late?
If you cancel after the deadline and no replacement is found, you still owe 16,90$.
What if I do not show up without notice?
A no-show without notice means a mandatory 16,90$ payment. Repeated no-shows can lead to exclusion.
How do I pay?
Payment is made through a secure Stripe link available in your session’s WhatsApp chat, by credit or debit card.
Why does the price change after the session?
The link automatically goes up to 20$ after the session. Pay during the session to keep the 16,90$ rate.
Can I pay in cash?
No, cash is not accepted. All transactions happen online via Stripe.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel through your Stripe customer portal, accessible via an automated email. Area Courts cannot process cancellations directly.
Can I switch sessions with my subscription?
The subscription is fixed to one session. A change is arranged by contacting the staff on WhatsApp, subject to availability.
What if I cannot come one week?
The subscription does not pause. Give notice in the chat before 3pm the same day. No refund.
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscribers manage their account through the Stripe customer portal, with support available in the general discussion WhatsApp chat.

Centre Sportif ETS, 1111 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest, QC H3C 1K3, Building B, 3rd floor.
How do I get there by transit?
Lucien-L’Allier and Bonaventure stations are about a 10-minute walk away.
